The best and fastest way to install WordPress<\/strong><\/span> software is to use Fantastico<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Fantastico <\/em><\/strong>is software included with most hosting companies that allows you to install applications like WordPress on your site easily. If you\u2019re not sure if your hosting company supports Fantastico (most do), then contact their customer support.<\/p>\n

If you see a Fantastico<\/strong><\/em> icon when you log into your hosting account, click on it. You\u2019ll be taken to a page with many options. Look on the left side and you\u2019ll see WordPress<\/strong>. Click the link and you\u2019ll be brought to page with a few options.<\/p>\n

These are easy options to fill out.<\/p>\n

Choose the correct domain name<\/em><\/span> that you want to install WordPress on. Don\u2019t worry about installing in a directory. Leave that blank and it\u2019ll post the blog on the home page of your site. If you\u2019d prefer, put the word blog there and it will install on yourdomain.com\/blog<\/em> instead.<\/p>\n

Come up with an administrator name.<\/em><\/span>\u00a0 Don\u2019t use something like \u2018admin.\u2019 It makes your site easy prey to hackers. Choose your password. Write down your administrator name and your password in a secure place.<\/p>\n

Enter your admin nickname.<\/em><\/span> This will be your display name and can be changed later if you don\u2019t like it. You can use your name, your company name, or your initials.<\/p>\n

Enter the admin email.<\/em> <\/span>
\nThis should be a working email address you have access to. Be sure to double-check it to prevent errors.<\/p>\n

Next, choose your site name.<\/em><\/span> Your site name can also be changed later in the administration settings.<\/p>\n

Enter the description of your website.<\/em><\/span> This is your tagline or slogan. Once you\u2019ve done that, click \u2018install WordPress.\u2019<\/span>\u00a0 A page will come up prompting you to review your choices. If they\u2019re correct, click \u2018finish.\u2019<\/span> If not, hit the back button and correct any errors.<\/p>\n

Once you install WordPress, it will take a few seconds to a few hours depending on your site and system before the site is set up and you can begin customizing it. You can log into<\/em><\/span> your WordPress website when it\u2019s complete by going to www.yoursite.com\/wp-login.php.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Enter the administrator username and password you chose earlier.<\/p>\n

On the left side, look for a box that says \u2018Settings.\u2019<\/em><\/span> In that box, there will be multiple settings you can tweak including your site name<\/em>, slogan<\/em>, your local time<\/em>, your email address<\/em> and more.<\/p>\n
